The ear of Marvin Nash supports detachment for each of the Dogs. Each of them gives off detachment. Mr. Orange is detached when it is revealed to the audience he is an undercover cop. The viewer gets a sense of individuality from Mr. Orange. It is represented that Mr. Orange is the black sheep of the group, the rotten egg. Mr. Blue and Mr. Brown give the viewer a sense of detachment because they unexplainably disappear from the movie. Mr. Pink shows detachment when he hides during the shootout between all of the major characters in the last scene. He then takes the jewels ad runs away alone. Mr. Blonde most likely feels detached doing four years in prison for Joe Cabot. He has been away from Cabot's criminal organization. Mr. White feels detached when he finds out Mr. Orange is a cop. He realizes that what he has been standing up for is not what he wanted to stand up for. He feels unsupported and has no connection to Mr. Orange anymore. The ear of Marvin Nash represents the inner feeling each Dog at one point feels in the movie.
